American Michael Lewis P2 at Vallelunga Collective Test

090711_spa_SMLaguna Beach, California (September 7, 2011) — Michael Lewis is on a mission to finish the 2011 Formula 3 Italia Championship strong, and he’s well on his way. After a disappointing weekend at Adria for Rounds 9 and 10 of the series’ championship, Michael and the PREMA Powerteam regrouped and Michael set the second fastest time of 13 cars participating in a collective test session at Vallelunga on Tuesday, September 6.

Michael worked closely with his PREMA Powerteam engineer, Fabio Zilio, and mechanic, Marco Sbabo, to be at the top of the time charts. Two sets of tires are allocated by Kumho Tires for each collective test. Michael and Fabio were so confident in the car set up, that they were able to save one set of new tires. Every other competitor used both sets and only Edoardo Liberati was able to surpass Michael’s lap time. Prema has an extra set of tires for Michael at the next collective test in Mugello. A strong test showing is important because the Formula 3 Italia Championship will return to the Vallelunga circuit on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, for Rounds 11 and 12, of the 16-round series.

Michael’s sponsor lineup for 2011 includes Eibach Springs, K&N Engineering, SKF, GoPro, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, Cometic Gasket, Bell Helmets, Braille Battery, Subè Sports and Calico Coatings.
