Laguna Beach, California — After clinching consecutive wins on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) last month, Southern California native Michael Lewis returns to the Southland searching for another win.
Propelled by excitement generated from his hometown crowd at last year’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Michael won PWC’s GTA category, a feat he hopes to repeat, but this time in the GT class while driving the No. 41 EFFORT Racing / Curb-Agajanian Porsche 911 GT3 R. The famed 11-turn Long Beach street circuit will play host to Round 5 of the PWC, which will be on the same event weekend of the Verizon IndyCar Series and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Just last week on April 5, Michael partnered with Circle Porsche Long Beach, Competition Motorsports, and the PWC for the annual media day event to promote the race. Michael gave several members of the media rides on the 1.968-mile temporary circuit in downtown Long Beach.
Following is the event schedule for the 42nd Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (all times Pacific Daylight Time):
Friday, April 15
3:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. Practice
Saturday, April 16
8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Qualifying
Sunday, April 17

Although Sunday’s race begins at 10 a.m. PDT, it is schedule to air on CBS Sports Network that day at 11:00 a.m PDT / 2 p.m. EDT, but verify local listings. Live timing and scoring will be available at worldchallenge.growsites.net.
